Retirement Board Election

The terms of two of your representatives on the Plymouth Retirement Board, Thomas Kelley and Richard Manfredi, will expire on June 30, 2016.  Nominations will open on Friday, March 4, 2016, for the election of the two elected members of the Plymouth Retirement Board for a term of office from July 1, 2016 until June 30, 2019.

Any member-in-service or any person retired from the Plymouth Retirement System, is eligible to be a candidate for this office and to vote in the election.  This election is not open to survivors, in-active members or beneficiaries.  Candidates may be nominated by obtaining signatures and addresses of twenty (20) members-in-service and/or eligible retirees in the Plymouth Retirement System. 

 

The following is the schedule relative to the election for the elected members of the Plymouth Retirement System:

 

March 4, 2016

Friday, 9:00 a.m.

Nomination papers will be available at the Plymouth Retirement Office, 10 Cordage Circle, Suite 240, Plymouth, MA 02360 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  In the event a member is unable to pick up his/her nomination papers in person, a “letter of authorization” will be accepted.

April 22, 2016

Friday, 4:00 p.m.

Deadline for nomination papers to be submitted to the Plymouth Retirement System.

April 29, 2016

Friday, 12:30 p.m.

Drawing for placement of candidate’s names on the ballot will take place in the Plymouth Retirement Office, 10 Cordage Circle, Suite 240, Plymouth, MA 02360.  At this time, the rules of the election will be explained to the candidates.

May 11, 2016

Wednesday

Ballots & stamped, return envelopes will be mailed out.

June 3, 2016

Friday

Ballot envelopes must be post-marked no later than June 3, 2016.

No hand-delivered ballots will be accepted.

June 8, 2016

Wednesday, 1:00 p.m.

The Plymouth Retirement Office will conduct the election in accordance with the Supplemental regulation dated November 28, 2000 and the policy adopted by the Board on February 26, 2010.  Ballots will be opened and counted in the Retirement Office at 1:00 p.m.
