Officer Jesse was appointed as a full-time Police Officer effective 9/9/1985, but had his first retirement deduction taken beginning January 1, 1986. This payroll error was noticed in 2003, and Mr. Jesse was sent a letter on May 1, 2003, explaining that he was eligible to purchase this time if he chose to. Mr. Jesse has made a request to the Board to waive the interest due on the buyback from 9/9/1985 through 5/1/2003, when he was first notified of the error. The adjusted amount for Mr. Jesse to repay the System for service from 9/9/85-12/31/85, if paid in full by August 31, 2016, is equal to $674.98.
